Karachi: Eighteen more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Tuesday, increasing the patient toll 4269 in 2013, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
He said that a total of 4904 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 4269 were detected in Karachi and 635 in rest of Sindh province. He said 15 dengue cases were reported late from hospitals.
He said a total of 25 dengue fever patients died in Karachi in 2013, while three expired in Hyderabad and one each in Mirpurkhas and Thatta so far. He said 18 more dengue viral fever cases were reported in the Karachi (6 inpatient & 12 OPD cases). No case was detected in rest of province.
He further informed that 572 cases were detected in Hyderabad, 21 in Mirpurkhas, 10 in Jamshoro, seven in Thatta, four each in Sukkur and Shikarpur; two each in Kambar, Sanghar; Dadu, Larkana and Kashmore and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Tharparkar, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Umerkot since January 2013.
