Karachi: Twenty-three new dengue viral fever cases surfaced in Karachi on Friday, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh. He said that a total of 4163 dengue fever cases had been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 3602 were detected in Karachi and 561 in rest of Sindh province.
He said 32 new cases were reported across the province in last 24 hours. He said eight new dengue cases were also reported in Hyderabad and first was detected in Tharparkar district. He informed that 37 dengue cases were reported late from hospitals.
He further informed that 23 dengue fever patients died in Karachi, while two expired in Hyderabad this year so far. He further informed that 524 cases were detected in Hyderabad, eight in Jamshoro, six in Thatta, four in Sukkur, three in Shikarpur; two each in Kambar, Sanghar, Dadu, Larkana and Kashmore and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar and Umerkot since January 2013.
