KARACHI: Provincial government’s Social Welfare Department has announced to appoint 284 people in different projects in Sindh province, while new projects would also be initiated by department.
According to Director Social Welfare Department, Khalid Akber, the department would induct these people in the ongoing and new projects.
Elaborating new projects to be launched by the department, he said that three day care centers would be established in Karachi while one each would be established in Sukkur, Hyderabad, Larkana and Mirpurkhas.
He said that women complaint cells would be established in all districts of the province in order to aid women in distress. “Working women hostels will also be set up in Shaheed Benazirabad district,” he said.
Akber said that the appointments would be made in seven categories of projects that include sales and display resource centres in Karachi, day care centers in Karachi and other districts of province, women complaint cells in all districts of Sindh, advocacy for women empowerment project, working women hostels in Shaheed Benazirabad, media cell in Karachi, women development complex at Benazirabad and gender reform action plan project in Sindh.
The director said that the process of appointment would be fair and a departmental committee would scrutinize the applications submitted till March 28. “It will be a lengthy process as the committee will scrutinize their documents and take interviews of the candidates. Vacancies are available for even a graduate and even a literate person without having any degree,” Akber said.
He said that at least 66 people would be appointed from Karachi in different offices and people across the urban and rural areas of the province could also apply on other seats.
Akber said that doctors, drivers, naib qasid, cookers, accountants, sanitation cleaner, cashier, salesman, computer operator, wardens and others will be appointed in the department. Akber said: “The age limit for the applicants was set from 18 to 35, and we will be prefer women candidates in the process while urban, rural and disabled quota will also be applied.”
