29 suspects apprehended in Rangers raids


KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Tuesday claimed to have arrested 29 suspects in different raids in the city and recovered arms from their possession. Rangers spokesman said targeted raids were conducted in Wazir Goth in Korangi 100 Quarters, Shah Faisal Colony, Bilal Colony, Bhittaiabad, Nishtarabad, Gulshan-e-Ghazi, Mujahid Colony, Orangi and Lyari areas last night.

He said during the raids 29 criminals, including Lyari gang-war elements and criminals affiliated with political groups and members of defunct groups involved in heinous crimes were arrested.

He said 40 weapons of different calibres, including SMGs, Uni Barrel rocket launchers, G-3 rifle, hand grenades and mixed ammo were also recovered from their possession.

He further said during a targeted raid in Sukhia Ground, Old Sabzi area, an encounter with criminals took place and after an exchange of fire, a notorious criminal involved in murders, extortion and drug peddling was killed.
