Karachi: Six political parties, Jamaat-e-Islami JI, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz PMLN, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl JUIF, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan JUP and Sunni Tehreek ST, have expressed no confidence on provincial election commissioner Sindh Sono Khan Baloch and demanded his immediate removal.
A delegation of these parties led by JI Karachi chapter amir Muhammad Hussain Mehnati here Monday called on Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim and gave him suggestions regarding new delimitations. They requested that previous staff should not be used in correction of the voter lists and provincial election commissioner Sindh Sono Khan Baloch should be immediately removed.
The delegation comprised Irfanullah Khan Marwat of PMLN, Hafeezuddin Syed of PTI, Qari Muhammad Usman of JUIF, Abdul Haleem Ghouri of JUP and Matloob Awan of ST.
Fakhruddin G Ebrahim assured them that the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan regarding correction of voters’ lists would be implemented in letter and spirit.
