Karachi: Opener Ahsan Ali played an impressive 106-run knock and helped Alamgir Gymkhana record a convincing 114-run victory against Metropolitan Cricket Club to qualify for the quarterfinals of KCCA Zone VI Blue Top Trophy Cricket Tournament here at KCCA Stadium.
Alamgir Gymkhana batted first and put on board 257-6 in 40 overs. Ahsan Ali played a brilliant 106-run knock with the help of 13 boundaries. Hassaan Khan and Naveed-ul-Amin shared two wickets each.
In reply, Metropolitan Cricket Club scored a measly total of 143 runs before they were all bundled out in 34.3 overs. Saif-ur-Rehman top scored for the side with 26 runs. Najeebullah Khan captured a three-wicket haul while Shiraz Hussain took two wickets.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Club recorded a formidable nine-wicket victory against Unity Gymkhana here at Afza Cricket Ground and confirmed their presence in quarters.
Unity Gymkhana batted first and scored a paltry total of 74 runs before losing all of their wickets in 18 overs. Khurram Asim scored 33 in his team’s low scoring inning. Skipper Adnan Kalim displayed lethal bowling show and hauled six wickets giving away only 4 runs in 4 overs.
In reply Pakistan Cricket Club easily achieved the victory target losing only one wicket in 10.2 overs. Tabish Khan batted well for the victors scoring 52 runs.
