Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain has said they Sindh is like ‘mother’, who cannot be divided, adding the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) if cannot give rights to all people should give a Sindh number one to the people who support it, and give the other people who do not support it, a Sindh number two.
Addressing a big rally at Gulshan-e-Iqbal here Sunday, he said his party Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) does not believe in revenge but instead to forgive. He said that his recent speech at Hyderabad was seen out of the context. He said the genuine rights of people could not be usurped with force. He said if one tongue it tied he may go to use his hands and feet. He said we should learn a lesson from history. He said he is not afraid of anyone, adding they are ready to face stiff challenges.
Altaf Hussain harshly criticized PPP. He said like the death of Bhutto this party would also forget the Kalabagh Dam, when the dam was built. He alleged the PPP for unfair delimitations to get political gains. He said the court also declared these delimitations illegal. He said if the PPP considers all residents of Sindh as equal citizens, the government of Sindh should announce to abolish the quota system.
He said he has never asked the distribution of Sindh, but instead distribution of resources. He said it was MQM that sent its workers to assemblies on merit to face Waderas and feudal lords. He said it is better to settle issues with dialogue before fighting. He said the era of threatening and bullying has gone and now no one could snatch the rights of people. He said that a dialogue would be in the interest of the country.
Altaf Hussain said his struggle is not for a particular group of people, but for the all oppressed people. He bitterly criticized rival Jamaat-e-Islami and asked people not to invite Jamaat-e-Islami people to their homes to deliver Quranic lectures.
