Karachi: Anti-Terrorism Court-II (ATC-II) on Tuesday recorded statements of a complainant in a kidnapping for a ransom case. According to prosecution, accused Javed, Sudhir, Ibrahim and Mrs Zainab allegedly abducted Mohammad Jaffar within the remits of Manghopir police station. Accused demanded Rs10 million from complainant and extended threat to kill Jaffar in non-payment.
Accused were arrested during a raid conducted by Manghopir police. The case hearing was adjourned till 22 January 2014.
A case was registered under Sections 365-A (kidnapping for ransom) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at the Manghopir police station.
