KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) on Wednesday remanded two activists of a banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi to CID police custody until March 16, 2014 in a case pertaining to the possession of explosive material.
The two suspects, Mahboob Alam Madni and Syed Mushtaq Hussain alias Shahjee, were produced before the court amid tight security. The investigation officer requested the court for more time to conduct further interrogations.
According to the prosecution, both suspects were arrested during a raid conducted by CID police on March 3, 2014. They were booked in explosive material possession case.
According to police, two hand grenades were recovered from them. Police also claimed suspects were also involved in sectarian killing.
A case FIR No, (75/2014) was registered against the suspects under Sections 324 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code, Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act at the CID police station.
