Call to pay salaries to KMC, KWSB employees

KARACHI: Jamaat-e- Islami (JI) Karachi General Secretary Abdul Wahab has demanded of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and other officials concerned to ensure timely payment of salaries to the employees of KMC, water board and fire brigade so that they can run their livelihood in proper manner.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Wahad expressed deep concern over the delay in the payment of salaries to the KMC staffers, adding that the Islam teaches us to pay the remuneration of workers on time.

Condemning the delay in the salaries, JI Karachi General Secretary regretted that corruption and mismanagement were on the rise in the government institutions and billions of rupees were being spent on VIP protocols and other luxuries but employees of low grade had been deprived of their legal rights in term of salary.

He urged the chief minister to play his due role in order to release the salaries of employees working in government and semi-government institutions.
