Karachi: Joint Director and In-charge Emergency Ward Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Dr Seemi Jamali on Wednesday said construction of permanent police and rangers check posts and new waiting-room for attendants is underway at JPMC keeping in view increasing terrorist activities.
Talking to media at her Office, Dr Seemi said construction of permanent police and rangers check posts is underway outside the emergency ward to ensure their 24-hour presence in healthcare in order to avoid any possible terrorist act in JPMC in future.
She said only one attendant would be allowed with a patient to avoid unnecessary crowding in emergency ward and also to give proper care to patients during emergency treatment as well as to minimize the security issues in emergency ward.
Dr Seemi said construction of waiting-room outside the emergency department was also underway in JPMC for attendants. She informed that the construction of security check posts and waiting-room would be completed in end of April 2014.
