Karachi: Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has appreciated the philanthropic role of Aga Khan Foundation in development of the social services, specifically in the fields of community development, education and health.
He expressed these views while exchanging his views with C.E.O. Aga Khan Culture Service Pakistan Sulman Baig, who called on him (Chief Secretary) Friday on Chief Secretary’s invitation, with the specific reference of seeking help of the foundation for saving the historical Mohatta Palace from decadence. The Mohatta Palace is located in Clifton at Karachi.
Baig assuring his best cooperation to take up the matter before higher authorities of AGF, lauded the efforts of Sindh Government for preservation of historical and Cultural heritage of Pakistan, including decades Mohatta Palace, which had also been the residence of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah till her death (9-7-1967).
Sajjad Hotiana informed the AGF representative that Taufiq A. Chinoy, Trustee Mohatta Palace, has been nominated as Focal Person, to this effect.
Baig told that the Chairman AKCSP Akbar Pesnani has assigned the task him to meet Chief Secretary, Secretary and Mr. Chinoy, to get better understanding into the matter.
Chief Secretary thanked on the arrival of Baig. A comprehensive meeting will shortly be convened, accordingly.
