KARACHI: Corporate sector and business community have played a pivotal role in the development of society and masses through various projects and activities of welfare and empowerment which should be continued in the city for the interest of common man and nation.
This was stated by Shoaib Siddiqui, Commissioner of Karachi while talking to the delegation of National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) led by its President Naeem Quershi. He was accompanied by Vice President NFEH Nadeem Ashraf, Advisor of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Atiqur Rehman, and Project Director Mehmood Tareen.
He said that corporate sector’s social welfare and development activities should be promoted and encouraged at the platform being organized on February 20 under CRS Conference and Award. The valuable service of companies should be given due recognition by dignitaries of the city and country.
He was briefed that different national and multinational company allocated and spent billion of rupees annually as part of their contribution in society empowerment which they are operating in. Hence, the impacts are beneficial for masses which could be visible in terms of change in the common man’s life individually and collectively.
The companies carry out different projects in the fields of health, environment, literacy and education in unserved and underserved sections of society at massive level in order to bring reforms in the country.
But their efforts should be applauded and encouraged different other companies to partake their role in the same direction. In this regard, the 6th CSR Conference and Awards will make a difference and pay tribute to all private and public sector companies which set examples of masses welfare through CRS projects.
There will be more than 200 companies will be taken part in the conference. Some of them are National Bank of Pakistan, EFU life Insurance, Bank Alfalh, Bank Albaraka, Adamjee Insurance, Fauji Fertilizer Limited, Bestway Cement, Crown Group, Shaan Foods.
