KARACHI: The project of Shahrah-e-Noor Jehan is yet to be completed despite passage of many years, causing immense hardship to the commuters. For five years the condition of a portion of Shahrah-e-Noor Jehan from Shipowners College up to Qalandar intersection is very poor and hazardous for valuable lives of citizens.
This was stated in an intimation letter written to Attorney General of Pakistan under section 80 of Civil Procedure Code, requesting him to take notice of poor condition of the road and direct concerned department to complete the project.
Advocate Nazir Ahmed Awan, in his letter, further submitted that Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has erected electric poles in dangerous condition, which were hampering smooth flow of traffic and causing gridlocks.
He stated that due to the rough condition of roads and reckless driving of public transport buses are putting the lives of citizen in risk instead of providing them commuting facilities.
