Deteriorating law and order situation affects business

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the deteriorated law and order situation had completely destroyed the business activities in the city. He expressed these views during his visit to Old City areas including Sarafa Bazaar, Moosa Lane, Baghdadi and other adjacent localities in connection with ongoing membership campaign of the party.

Addressing the area people, Hafiz Naeem said that those parties which claimed the mandate of the city had not yet taken any serious step towards the restoration of peace in metropolis. He said that the city was a centre of peace in early 80s and the people came in Karachi for spreading their businesses, searching for employment and other trade activities, but the city was in grip of terrorism for last two decades and due to this the business community has transferred its business to other cities of the country.

“The terrorist activities including targeted killings, extortion and other heinous crimes in the city have destroyed the economic condition of the country”, he regretted.

Hafiz Naeem further said that the peaceful Lyari area had become the den of criminals, however; those who claimed the supremacy in Lyari had not yet taken any step for the restoration of peace in the locality. “The elected representatives are busy in enjoying the perks and privileges of the ministries, while lives of innocent people of Lyari were at the mercy of hardened criminals”, he added. On the occasion, he urged the area people to stand with Jamaat-e-Islami to bring the Islamic revolution in the country, as the honest and competent leadership of JI could change the fortune of the people.
