DHA college organizes bilingual declamation contest

KARACHI: Defence Authority College for Women has organized the 21st Annual Bilingual Declamation Contest on January 28, 2014 in the College Auditorium. Professor Anwar Ahmed Zai, Chairman Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) honoured the event as the chief guest. The contest commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by Naat.

The chief guest in his address emphasized on the significance of time and quoted Allah the almighty and his Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) very clearly tell us the value of time and we must use our time wisely to increase our faith and to attain success in the life hereafter. His speech proved to be mesmerizing. He highly praised the contest and congratulated the Principal Dr. Farhat Agha on the mega success of the programme.

Dr Farhat Agha, Principal of the College welcomed the chief guest and the audience. In her speech she greatly appreciated the efforts of the Debating Society of the College in the art of public speaking.

In the English Declamation Contest Hamdard University grabbed the first position; PNS Bahadur was declared second and PECHS College for Women won the third position. While special prize taken by Agha Khan School. In the Urdu Declamation first position was won by Hamdard University, NUST got second and Agha Khan Secondary School was declared third while the special prize taken by Agha Khan Medical University. Overall trophy of the Declamation Contest was given to Hamdard University.

In the end, the chief guest distributed shields among the participants and the judges of the declamation contest. The Principal of the College presented a shield to the chief guest.
