KARACHI: KMC Land Anti-Encroachment Department in two separate operations started the process of removing encroachments established on Alladin Park and Truck Stand. In an operation on Wednesday, illegal patharas and carts established on the location of Wednesday Bazaar outside Alladin Park were removed under the supervision of Director Land Anti-Encroachment Mazhar Khan.
This operation was completed without any resistance whereas those who established encroachments were warned that they should refrain from re-establishing encroachments, otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
According to Department of Land Anti-Encroachment, this operation against encroachments would continue in future. In second operation, the process of removing encroachments on truck stand has been started in three phases under the supervision of Sr Director Land Anti-Encroachment and Chairman Task Force Bilal Manzar.
In first phase, patharas and carts were being removed during the operation and this operation will continue 24 hours.
Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui directed the officers of Anti-Encroachment and Task Force to adopt a comprehensive strategy for removal of encroachments on all big roads, highways, storm-water drains, footpaths, play grounds, parks and other locations of the city so that traffic flow could maintain and pedestrians could also be facilitated.
He said that encroachments created problems for citizens, therefore, action against every type of encroachment should be taken and in this connection, no pressure should be entertained.
