KARACHI: The Sindh International Film Festival invites all the film makers & students to submit their films, documentaries, narrative shorts & narrative feature for the 1st Sindh International Film Festival 2014, scheduled to be held on 10th& 11th February as part of the Sindh Film Competition section of Sindh Culture Festival.
For students who want to take part in this competition, the brief is very simple; make a short film on “Sindh” no longer than 10 minutes. The subject can be interpreted & dealt with as unique & creative as the heart desires.
The aim of the Sindh International Film Festival is to promote creative and artistic freedom to filmmakers and give them a platform to showcase their work to a panel of international judges who will choose the best film. The best film will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 150,000 and will be screened at the closing ceremony of the Sindh Festival at Keenjhar Lake in Thatta on the 15th of February 2014.
The deadline for submissions for the Sindh Film Competition component of the Sindh International Film Festival is the 1st of February. The top three entries will also be featured on our website www.sindhfilmfestival.com and will be promoted throughout the year and the filmmakers will be given special access to Sindh International Film Festival Master Classes and Q and A sessions with the film industry professionals coming across from country & outside.
In a press release issued from the secretariat of International Sindh Film festival, director for Sindh International Film Festival, Asad Zulfiqar Khan mentioned that 1st of February is the last date of submission, only for the students who want to take part in this competition while those film makers who want to showcase their documentaries, narrative shorts and narrative features, they are requested that their entries should be loaded onto Vimeo as private videos and the links, along with the password, a short synopsis and a poster should be mailed email@example.com no later than the 10th of January. Decisions will be made and listed on the Sindh International Film Festival website by 15th January. Films will be competing in the Best Documentary, Best Narrative Short, Best Feature Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Script and Best Cinematography categories and will be judged by a panel of international judges during the festival.
