Final updated news; Five gunned down in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Five people were killed and two injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Tuesday. According to rescue sources, unidentified men opened fire in Rehman Society area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, killing 25-yeard-old Amir, son of Mohammad Rahim. The body was shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy.

In another incident, 23-yeard-old Ahsan Raza Sheikh, son of Mohammad Khalid Sheikh was gunned down in Madina Colony area of Korangi 3½. The victim was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.

Separately, unidentified armed men shot dead a 35-year-old unidentified man in Afghan Basti area of Sohrab Goth. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.

An unknown man, 25, was killed when armed men opened fire on him near Agra Taj in Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy.

Abdul Razzaq, 35, son of Fazal Khan was shot at and injured by unknown armed men near Manghopir’s Garam Chashma. The injured was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

Umar Jan, 30, son of Akber, was killed and Jan Sher, son of Shamroz Khan, was injured when unknown armed men opened fire on them in Haqqani Muhalla, Pathan Colony within the jurisdiction of Site A police station in Banaras. The victims were residents of Banaras.

The body and injured were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for autopsy and treatment respectively.

A police official said that the victims sustained one bullet. No reason behind the incident could be ascertained yet.
