Karachi: The Southern Regional Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) has organized a 2-day workshop in collaboration with the Institute of Business Strategy, New Jersey on “The CFO: Becoming a Strategic Partner” recently here in Karachi.
Saleem Sufi, a US based well-known strategist was the course director. He highlighted the evolving role of the CFO in today’s competitive business world and said that a CFO needs to be aware of the overall strategy to achieve the targets set by the CEO or Chairman of the organization. He further highlighted how strategy is a controlling and regulating device for setting organizational direction. Relevant examples were shared of Global companies and how they are manoeuvring their strategic direction as per the requirement and demands of the end user.
The workshop was attended by CFOs of leading organizations of the country from a diverse range of sectors including Education, Financial Services, FMCG, Media, Oil & Gas, Pharma, Steel & Allied and Telecom.
