Karachi: University of Karachi and George Mason University (GMU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance the learning experience of faculty and students of both the institutions.
Both the institutions have formally signed a three-year partnership agreement. Funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of State, the partnership will build the capacity of KU’s public administration department by focusing on curriculum development and research skills, including through an ongoing research seminar led by a GMU faculty member residing in Karachi.
The partnership will benefit the faculty and students of Karachi University by promoting academic and cultural exchange, building Karachi University’s institutional capacity, and increasing people-to-people contact between American and Pakistani students and educators.
The partnership will include the use of video conferencing technology for short courses for students and faculty, a summer research workshop at GMU for KU faculty, curriculum review and development, and a joint summer research project based in Pakistan.
