KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Friday said that honest and highly responsible officers would be deployed at Sindh border with Balochistan and Punjab to control the smuggling of wheat.
He informed this while talking to a high-ups of Food Department Sukkur and Larkana region at his office during a meeting. Additional chief secretary Naseer Jamali, additional secretary food Agha Zaheer and director food Sindh Muzammal Hussain Halepoto was also present on the occasion.
He directed officers to issue show-cause notices to food department employees involved in wheat theft. He urged the officers to conduct comprehensive enquiry against those working against the interest of public. He ordered director food Sindh to submit a detail report in this regard within a week and improve wheat storage system in Sukkur and Larkana regions.
Dahar said that he would visit all divisions of province to review the all issues in order to provide relief to masses of Sindh province. He further directed officers to fulfil wheat shortage. He instructed officials to present a report about inferior quality of wheat within two days.
He said no poor performance of officers and staff would be tolerated in department and strict action would be taken against those found involved in alleged misappropriation.
