Murder-shootout case: ATC frames charges against accused gangster


Karachi: Anti-Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) on Tuesday framed charges against accused lyari gangster in different murder and shootout cases.

According to prosecution, Abdul Ghaffar alias Mama along with his absconding accomplices was booked and arrested for his alleged involvement in attacking police during an operation in Lyari this year. The attack allegdly killed a pedestarian and injured some policemen.

Lyari gang warfare had allegedly attacked the law-enforcement agencies with sophisticated weapons, rocket launchers and hand grenades on different occasions in April 2012.

On this occasion some armoured personnel carriers were damaged, a pedestarian Asghar Ali was killed and some cops injured in the attack.

FIR 68/12 & 70/12 were registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder), 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 3/4 of the Explosive Substance Act read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at the Kalakot police station.

The case was adjourned till 03 December.
