Karachi: Secretary Health Sindh Iqbal Hussain Durrani on Thursday said that the drafting work of new health policy bill is under way and the bill would be tabled Sindh Assembly soon.
He expressed these views while talking the media men at Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) after attending the symposium on topic; “ Meeting the Challenges of Autism in Pakistan” as chief guest.
He said standing committee of Sindh Assembly with representation of all parliamentary parties is reviewing the clauses of health bill in detail; therefore, its tabling was delayed for a few weeks. He said import issues related with healthcare sector in Sindh province would be included in bill in order improve overall healthcare situation in the province.
Iqbal Durrani said construction work of trauma center in Karachi has been delayed due to the changes in PC-1 of project thrice. He said he has assumed the charge of Secretary Health Sindh about one and half month ago and already issued directive to authorities concerned about early completion of project.
He informed that Health Department Sindh has written letter to Federal Government about the trauma center Karachi project. He said trauma center project would be completed by June 2014.
Replying a question about failure dengue spray campaign in Karachi and substandard chemicals used in anti-dengue spray, Durrani said all those involved in the alleged mismanagement would be sent home after proper enquiry and chemical tests.
