KARACHI: The Chief Executive Officer Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) SM Muneer said on Tuesday that Pakistan was buried under a heap of issues, while the Prime Minister is working on the agenda of eradication of gas, electricity crises in addition to overcoming the terrorism which would bring positive changes ultimately in next two to three years.
“We need a strong economy if we want to compete with the developed nation. TDAP was linked to the corruption but now all the corrupt, incompetent staff of TDAP will be removed so that actions could be taken quicker to improve the exports and for that confidence of business community is inevitable.”
This was stated at the reception hosted by Sardar Yaseen Malik, Chairman Hilton Pharma and Mian Zahid Hussain, President All Karachi Industrial Alliance in his honour. President FPCCI Zakarya Usman, Former Sindh Minster for Trade Abdul Rauf Siddiqui, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan and Khalid Tawwab also spoke at the occasion.
SM Muneer said that we have to work hard, think positively and move on to the right direction to make Pakistan an Asian Tiger. He further said that he accepted the position on three conditions and he would not take any remuneration or benefit.
President All Karachi Industrial Alliance Mian Zahid Hussain said that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif took the right decision by appointing SM Muneer for this august post for increasing the exports activities and stabilize the economy.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that SM Muneer is an institution in him and the nation will get benefit from his business acumen and experience.
At the occasion Zikriya Usman, President FPCCI said that every country should have showcase for Pakistani products for marketing of Pakistan products. He said that regional trade would be helpful in bringing the positive change and we should also explore the potential of trade with South America and South Africa.
Khalid Tawwab said that Prime Minister has given a chance to private sector because the imports volume is bigger than exports of the county and the growth of TDAP is linked to SM Muneer.
Former Sindh Minster Abdul Rauf Siddiqui said that it is time to be united and support SM Muneer for the betterment of Pakistan.
