PML-N says talks with MQM not for forming alliance

Karachi: Secretary Information, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh chapter Ali Akbar Gujar has ruled out the possibility of an election alliance of his party with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in upcoming local bodies’ election.

Talking to PPI on Wednesday he said that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was not only leader of PML-N but also Prime Minister of Pakistan so he is taking in confidence all political forces in the country over different national issues. He said the recent meetings with MQM leaders in Karachi were also part of this dialogue process.

He said however meeting with MQM do not mean that the two parties are going toward a political alliance. News regarding this in a section of Press is concocted, he asserted.

To a question he said that he did not think holding LG polls on 18th January would be feasible, adding that PMLN was also not in favour of holding LG elections on base of delimitations of 2001.

He said that new delimitation with consensus of all political parties was imperative before holing the LB polls.
