KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Culture and Tourism Ms Sharmila Farooqui has said that Pakistan People’s Party has always attached greater importance to provision of rights and protection to the minority community.
“The minorities are passing their lives in Pakistan free and there is no restriction on them from celebrating their religious festivity. Affections raise with religious respect of each others,” Sharmila said while attending a Holi ceremony at premises of Hindu temple in Clifton.
She said that Hindu community had played a great role in development of country but some anti-state element wanted to destroy harmony between Muslims and Hindu community in which they would never succeed.
“Safeguarding minorities is our responsibility for which all possible steps are being taken,” Sharmila concluded.
