KARACHI: There was no phenomenon of Taliban in Pakistan during the rule of military dictator Gen Ziaul Haq, and it is undeniable fact that the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairperson and the then prime minister Benazir Bhutto had created and launched these militant Taliban, said Pasban Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor.
In a statement here Tuesday, he said the historical facts could not be distorted through political rhetoric. He said the PPP should apologize with the Pakistani nation for its role in the creation of Taliban. He advised PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to issue statements against Taliban after remembering the role of his mother Benazir Bhutto in the nurturing and launching of Taliban.
Altaf Shakoor opined that Asif Zardari, instead of training Bilawal in the field of politics, has given him training of becoming a performer. He congratulated PPP jiyalas that now Bilawal could expertly imitate the speech style of late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He said after the farce of ‘Roti, Kapra and Makan’ it seems that the PPP has started a new drama in the name of Taliban. He said however, this is not the era of 70s and now Pakistani nation is more mature, politically, and it could not be easily hoodwinked.
