Karachi: Two militants were killed in an encounter with law enforcing agencies, while three bodies found in the city, on Thursday.
According to police, three bodies were recovered from a ground in Rehri Goth area of Landhi. The bodies bore marks of torture and bullet wounds.
The victims were later identified as Hamid, Adil and Atta Ullah. They were associated with a group involved in criminal activities and had served jail over allegations of being involved in killings, dacoity and drugs supply. They were recently released from Central Jail Karachi. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident, two people were killed in an encounter with Rangers in Kunwari Colony area of Manghopir. According to Rangers Spokesman, Major Sibtain, the law enforcers carried out a raid on a tip-off in Kunwari Colony and after a brief encounter, two militants were killed.
He said that the criminals were associated with banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and were identified as Saeed Ullah, 40, and Azam Mehsud, 35. These militants were involved in several activities of terrorism, including attacks on Rangers in the area. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsies.
