KARACHI: The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) has assured full support for the Tharparkar drought affected people and offered help to the senior member Board of Revenue Sindh who is the relief commissioner by virtue of his post and also thanked the prime minister Nawaz Sharif for his visit and relief programme.
President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver lamented that the Sindh government ignored the deteriorating situation in Tharparkar and remained busy in the Sindh festival and neglected the sufferings of the area under drought and adverse condition.
He urged the Sindh government to organize a system of vigilance and preparedness to overcome situations of famine, drought and disaster in good time and manage situations diligently rather than sleeping over signs indicating drought due to no rains.
Thaver urged the business community to donate food , medicines and clothing for the people of Tharparkar and ensure that the relief goods reach them in good time.
The union also requested the grain merchants to arrange for grains, pulses, cooking oil, milk, tea and sugar for immediate dispatch to the victims as the first and primary requirement is of food items.
The union thanked the various welfare organizations who are making efforts to give relief to the affected district.
