Updated news: Six killed in Karachi violence


KARACHI: A police man among six people were killed and 10 others injured in different acts of violence in the metropolis here on Wednesday. Unknown assailants attacked a police mobile near Hassan Square, as a result, a cop was killed. The victim was identified as Anwarul Haq, 28, son of Noor Haq. His body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy.

Separately, six people, including a woman, were injured in a rocket attack at Dubai Chowk Lyari. Two more people were injured in a firing incident in Qasba Colony.

Tauheed, 35, son of Aziz, was killed when unknown assailants opened fire on him in Mominabad, Orangi Town. The body was moved to ASH for an autopsy.

Ashfaque, 27, son Muhammad Younis, was shot dead by armed men near Islamia College in Gurumandir. The body was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.

A-51-year-old woman was tortured to death at her home in Baldia Town No 7. The victim was identified as Amina, wife of Mehar Shah. She was moved to CHK for an autopsy.

Unknown men cut throat of Hakeem, 35, son of Ghulam Qadir near Sea View police point. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

Sonia, 27, was strangled to death in Shah Faisal Colony, Green Town Street No 6. She was moved to JPMC for an autopsy.

Zohaib Ali, 30, was shot at and injured by unknown armed men near Tanga Stand in Sher Shah. The injured was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.

Awais, 25, son of Shahab, was shot and wounded by unknown armed men near Abdullah College. Injured was rushed to ASH for treatment.

In another incident, unidentified armed men opened fire near Abul Hassan Ispahani Road, killing 30-year-old Javed, son of Lal Baksh. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.
