Water shortage in city

Karachi: Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) Thursday said electricity supply to Hab pumping stations from Al-Mumtaz Feeder went suspended at 10:30am and could not be restored, despite KESC staff remained busy to repair the cable fault.

As a result, the city braved water shortage of 3million gallons per hour. The overall shortage was estimated at 25million gallons. Hence, water supply top Baldia, Shershah, Orangi, Pak Colony, Keamari, Lyari, Nazimabad, Surjani and North Karachi went affected.

The KWSB said after the restoration of electricity, normal water supply to the affected areas would be resumed, advising citizens to consume water conservatively.
