Zulfiqar Mirza calls Sindh Governor, discusses Badin issues

KARACHI: Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader and former home minister Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza called on Sindh Governor Imran Ismail at Governor’s House on Monday.

Member of Provincial Assembly Barrister Hasnain Mirza was also present on the occasion. Issues of mutual interest and political situation were discussed during the meeting.

Dr Mirza briefed the Sindh governor in detail about the development works of Badin. The governor assured him that he would soon make suggestions regarding the development issues of Badin during his meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He further said that new development schemes would be launched soon to improve the living standards of the people in Badin and other districts of Sindh. It may be noted GDA was formed in Sindh on 23 October 2017. The alliance was formed to counter the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the Sindh province politically.

For the 2018 Pakistani general election, the GDA joined hands with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for seat adjustments with the aim to defeat the PPP. As a result of the election, the GDA won 13 seats in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, two seats in the National Assembly.
