PM announces reduction in petroleum products prices

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced to reduce the prices of diesel by 40.54 rupees while petrol 18.50 rupees.

Addressing the nation last night, he said the reduction in oil prices are aimed to pass on the benefit of decreasing crude rates in the international market.

The Prime Minister said our coalition government inherited a troubled economy from PTI-led previous government.

He said that the previous government violated the agreement with the International Monetary Fund and laid landmines for us.

The Prime Minister said due to unprecedented increase in oil prices globally, we had to increase oil prices with heavy heart that put burden on common man.

He said we had to take tough decision for country’s betterment.

The Prime Minister said we should learn lessons from the bad experience of the past.

He said Agriculture, IT and export based industry are our priority areas where we will put all our efforts to make the country economically stable.

The Prime Minister said his government has signed an agreement with the IMF after day and night hectic efforts.

He appreciated Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail for for successful signing of the accord.

The Prime Minister assured that the government would use the available resources for the country’s prosperity.

Meanwhile, the Finance Division has also notified reduction in the per liter prices of petroleum products including petrol 18.50 rupees, high speed diesel 40.54, kerosene 33.81 and light diesel 34.71 rupees.
