Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed the authorities to take stern action against those who involved in hoarding and smuggling of wheat.

He was chairing a review meeting regarding the purchase and supply and demand of wheat in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Lahore on Saturday.

The Prime Minister also directed concerned officials to take steps for controlling the prices of wheat and flour in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed that the process of supplying 80 thousand tonnes of wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is continuing from Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation.

The meeting was also briefed that Punjab will achieve the target of wheat procurement very soon.
