Lahore: Vice President of All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association and Founder of Kite Flying Festival in Pakistan Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wayeen has lauded the Punjab government for making Kite Flying Festival part of spring festivities and termed it a visionary initiative of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif. “Kite Flying Festival at dedicated sites like Changa Manga and Jallo would not only save precious human lives but would also give a jump start to the much-needed economic activities.”
He was addressing a huge gathering of people attached with kite flying industry and representatives of NGOs working for the interests of working women. Barrister Khalid Zafar, Professor Khalid Malik and Madam Ume Laila also spoke on the occasion.
Khawaja Nadeem Wayeen said that the decision shows the vision of the Punjab government as permission for kite flying far from the populated areas would certainly save precious human lives on one hand while attract a large number tourists on the other hand. He said that establishment of Kite Flying Zone at Changa Manga and announcement to celebrate Kite Flying Festival in spring season by the Provincial Minister Rana Mashood Ali Khan would not only give new lease life to the tourism industry but would also give boost to the Punjab economy.
Khawaja Nadeem said that he had already rejected the idea of kite flying in populated area and suggested to the government to establish Kite Flying Zones well out of cities. It is good that Punjab government has finally accepted the suggestion and taken a step in right direction.
He said that this initiative would meet a big success and would not endanger motorists because of kite flying in the proposed area while thousand people, attached with kite flying industry, would get bread and butter.
He urged the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to constitute a committee consisting Punjab government and Kite Flying Association’s representatives to finalize establishment of more Kite Flying Zones after the success Changa Manga experience.
Khawaja Nadeem said that private sector acknowledges the services of Chief Minister Punjab and ready to extend every possible help to the Punjab Government.
