HYDERABAD: KMC Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has said that construction work of Malir Halt and Malir 15 flyovers has started. The report of soil investigation would be received from laboratory within two weeks after which pace of construction works would be enhanced. Sindh government has released Rs300million funds in first quarter for these flyovers. He said this while visiting under construction flyovers on both locations where he was given a briefing on piles testing and other construction works.
On this occasion Director General Engineering Department Niaz Ahmed Soomro, Project Director and other concerned officers were also present.
Administrator Karachi said that Malir Halt and Malir 15 flyovers hold much importance as completion of these flyovers would facilitate traffic going from Sharae Faisal to National Highway and traffic jam problem would also be resolved on these locations.
He said that officers should work with full dedication for timely completion of development projects in the city so that citizens could be provided with best facilities.
Earlier DG Engineering Department Niaz Ahmed Soomro gave a briefing and informed that Malir 15 flyover would be constructed with a cost of Rs 532 million whereas Malir Halt flyover with a cost of Rs386million.
Malir Halt flyover would consist of three lanes each having 3.3 meters width whereas the flyover would have 411 meters length and both ramps of this flyover would be constructed with 472 meters safety wall and 14 spans. He informed that pace of construction works of these flyovers would be enhanced right after report received from laboratory and all possible efforts would be made to complete these flyovers on time.
