KMU Symposium on Hepatitis Control and Awareness?


Peshawar: Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar being the largest and sole public sector medical university of the province has been actively involved with the Associations of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) for the hepatitis control and awareness particularly in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In this connection KMU is organizing a symposium in joint collaboration with Health Department of KP and APPNA at Pearl Continental Hotel, Peshawar on Wednesday 4th of September 2013 at 10am to 1:30pm.

Mr Shaukat Ali Yousafzai Minister of Health KP will be the chief guest while acting Vice Chancellor KMU Prof. Dr. Shah Mohammad will be the guest of honour in the opening session of this symposium.

The objective of the symposium was to bring together the policy makers, the decision makers and authorities from the allied health and clinical discipline to sit together and develop consensus on a solid document and framework for the control of hepatitis C in KP and to ensure the implementation of the document as a larger level.

Dr. Fakhr e Alam Secretary Health Govt of KP, Prof. Dr. Mukhtiar Zaman Director ORIC KMU, Dr. Javed Iqbal Farooqi Associate Prof. PGMI LRH and Dr. Maqbool Arshad Chairman APPNA Hepatitis C Initiative will also talk to the symposium.
