Peshawar: Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Assembly on Thursday Passed The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Arms Bill 2013 while The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Right to Information Ordinance 2013 has been introduced in the assembly.
Referring to call attention notice and various point of orders raised by opposition members, the minister for law and parliamentary affairs Israrullah Gandapur said that with appointment of parliamentary secretaries no burden will be put on national kitty as these secretaries will not receive any sort of perks and privileges.
The appointment of these secretaries, he said was according to the constitution and no illegal step has been taken. He said that special assistance and divisors could not be count as part of the cabinet. He said that secretaries will improve the performance of the government.
Earlier JUI parliamentary Leader Lutfur Rahman while talking to point of order said that appointment of such huge number of Parliamentary Secretaries will put extra burden on national Exchequer.
He said that there was justification of appointing 32 secretaries which is against the claims of PTI to bring austerity.” almost all members of the treasury benches have now occupying a slot in the government while the 18th amendment has asked to reduce the number of minister to 11% of the total strength of the assembly,” he said.
ANP leader Sardar Hussain Babak said that with the appointment of the 32 parliamentary secretaries was violation of the 18th amendment. He said it seems that ruling party was losing control on its members therefore they had been pleased by appointing them as secretaries.
