KARACHI: Muhammad Faisal Shahid, MPhil/PhD student of Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) – International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), Karachi University (KU), has won the poster competition in the International Conference on ‘Applications of Molecular Biology in Fields of Agriculture and Medicine’, held at National Center for Physics, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.
Faisal Shahid was one of 141 students participated from universities all over Pakistan, who were participating in the competition, and won first prize for his poster titled Cloning, Expression, Purification and Structural Studies on PTS Transport Protein of MRSA252. The competition was judged by panel of four (04) international scientists (From Australia,
Canada and Britain). Faisal Shahid is doing his PhD at PCMD under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr Atia-tul- Wahab.
KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser, Patron-in-Chief ICCBS-KU Prof Dr Atta-ur-Rahman and Director ICCBS Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhary have congratulated him for his success in the countrywide competition.
