Indus River’s flows

LAHORE: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 56500 cusecs and Outflows 15000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 19100 cusecs and Outflows 19100 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 34700 cusecs and Outflows 33000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 13600 cusecs and Outflows 12800 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 43400 cusecs and Outflows 37400 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 32000 cusecs and Outflows 35000 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 34300 cusecs and Outflows 34300 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 20800 cusecs and Outflows 16300 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 49200 cusecs and Outflows 41800 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 41300 cusecs and Outflows 9600 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 14900 cusecs and Outflows Nil.

Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1380 feet, present level 1505.52 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 4.064 million acre feet (MAF). Mangla: Minimum operating level 1040 feet, present level 1209.65 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 5.011 MAF.

Chashma: Minimum operating level 637 feet, present level 646.90 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.196 MAF. The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
