JI demands making Fata separate province, or merging into KP

Lahore: Ameer Jamaat e Islami (JI) Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that the time had come that the FATA is declared a separate province or merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was addressing the oath taking ceremony of Chairman of the District Development Advisory Committee, Temargarah, on Tuesday. Haji Saeed Gul took the oath.

Sirajul Haq said that the western powers had always supported dictators in the Muslim world. International powers were spreading unrest in 13 Muslim countries through different conspiracies. He said that the Afghans were being punished in the form of turmoil for defeating both the Soviet Union and NATO.

He said that Islam is the religion of peace. However, religion and religious people were being defamed through a conspiracy. He said that instead of making propaganda against seminaries, efforts should be made to include 3 million seminaries students in mainstream educational network.

The JI chief said that there were flaws in the 21st amendment; therefore, the amendments proposed by the religious parties should be incorporated to maintain the national unity against terrorism.

He said that around 10 million Fata people were denied the basic civic facilities.

He proposed that FATA be declared a separate province or merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. He said it was high time to try to win over the estranged Baloch people.
