LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Isami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the JI stood for justice and development, and added that equality and fair play would invariably pave way for progress and prosperity.
Addressing public meetings in connection with the election campaign of JI candidate from PK 95 Dir Lower on Monday, he urged the masses to gather under the banner of the JI for giving a deadly blow to the prevailing system based on exploitation and injustice.
He told the electorate that the ballot paper in their hand was a precious document as its prudent use could put the country on the road to progress and prosperity.
Commenting on the reports of fresh publication of blasphemous caricatures, Sirajul Haq said that such practices were intolerable and the Muslims would even lay down their lives for the sanctity of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Sirajul Haq said the JI was the party of the poor and the downtrodden. The JI, he said, wanted a system under which the fruits of development reached every section of the society. He said that the goal of progress and prosperity remained a far cry because of large scale poverty and illiteracy.
He said the JI was launching a mass campaign against the status quo by organizing the poor and the oppressed. He said the doors of the JI were open to the new entrants, and every citizen having love for Islam and Pakistan could join the JI.
Sirajul Haq said that democracy could not strengthen without transparent election system.
He said that a strong and autonomous Election Commission, error free electoral rolls, impartial and trained election staff were the basis requirements for free and fair polls. He said the people’s faith in the elections would be restored only if they believed that no one could steal their mandate, nor could any party influence the election results.
Sirajul Haq said that the JI was a truly democratic party that believed in the democratic norms and it was gaining popularity among the general public.
