Rivers flow at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma


LAHORE: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 28,000 cusecs and Outflows 48,000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 12,000 cusecs and Outflows 12,000 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 9,700 cusecs and Outflows 45,000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- Inflows 10,100 cusecs and Outflows 6,000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 69,100 cusecs and Outflows 61,600 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 56,500 cusecs and Outflows 57,000 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 54,500 cusecs and Outflows 42,500 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 10,300 cusecs and Outflows 1,200 cusecs, Guddu- Inflows 52,100 cusecs and Outflows 45,100 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 41,100 cusecs and Outflows 8,700 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 13,870 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.

Reservoirs Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1509.34 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 4.265 million acre feet (MAF), Mangla – dead level 1040 feet, present level 1221.90 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 5.856 MAF, Chashma – dead level 637 feet, present level 644.70 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.132 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 am.
