LAHORE: Lahore High Court Complaint Cell has disposed off its notice “assault on a 13-year-old girl” as accused persons have been sent to judicial lock up and facing trial in the Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Ahmadpur East.
According to details, the victim girl was asleep on the roof of home with her family members when two men climbed up the roof. They took the girl in a room at gunpoint and molested her. Her family heard her shout and rushed to rescue her. They tried to break the door of the room but the intruders threatened to kill the girl and consequently, were given a safe passage. However, on their way out, the girl’s family caught one of them while his accomplice fled.
The accused was handed over to the police and the victim girl was taken to a hospital where doctors treating her said that she was in a critical condition
On a press report LHC Complaint Cell took cognizance of the issue and directed District & Sessions Judge Bahawalpur to probe into the incident and submit a detailed report as to the steps taken by the police along with his own comments so as to reach Lahore High Court within a week.
The said Sessions Judge reported that Channi Goth police arrested both the nominated accused Muhammad Azeem and Muhammad Imran who were found guilty during course of investigation. Police report u/s 173 Cr. P.C. against them has also been submitted in the Court of Law, where the case is under trial. Resultantly, no further action was required by the Cell on administrative side.
