Health Department issues special SOPs after hike in Corona cases

LAHORE: With the special efforts of Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Imran Sikandar Baloch, the province-wide vaccination campaign is successfully moving towards its goals.

Special SOPs have been issued for various sectors in view of the growing situation in Corona across the province. A new record of vaccination across Punjab, a record number of vaccinations are being carried out on a daily basis. There are currently a total of 662 vaccination centers in operation. Vaccination campaign is successfully underway at all vaccination centers in Punjab province

During the last 24 hours, 1,839 cases were reported from across the province. So far, the total number of cases has reached 393,137. Besides, 355,453 patients have fully recovered in the whole province, bringing the total number of active cases to 25,819. In recent 24 hours, 24 deaths are recorded in Lahore whereas deaths 53 deaths have been reported in Punjab, while the total number of deaths has reached 11,874. During the last 24 hours, 22,917 tests are conducted making a total of 6,794,988 tests till date.

In the last 24 hours, in Lahore 838 and in Rawalpindi 181 positive COVID-19 cases are reported, while 83 in Faisalabad, 80 in Sargodha, 59 in Multan, 46 in Gujranwala, 42 in Nankana sahib, 34 in Khanewal, 33 in Jhang, 32 in Gujrat, 31 in Sialkot and Toba Tek Singh respectively. Further 30 in Bahawalpur, 29 in Sheikhupura, 28 in Vehari, 26 in DG Khan, 25 in Sahiwal, 23 in Mandi Bahawudin, 23 in Rajanpur, 20 in Kasur, 20 in Okara, 18 in Pakpattan, 18 in Rahim Yar Khan, 14 in Mianwali, 13 in Muzzafargarh, 12 in Bahawalnagar and Chakwal respectively, 8 in Jhelum and 7 in Khushab and Layyah respectively. 5 in Narowal, 4 in Bhakkar and Chiniot, 3 in Attock.

Yesterday, the overall positive rate of Corona virus was recorded at 8.0 in all the cities across the province. The provincial capital Lahore recorded a positive rate of 10.3 Faisalabad 7.0, Rawalpindi 9.2 Multan 4.1 and in Sargodha 9.9 is recorded.

While Talking about ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department said that, “Frequently increase corona case in Punjab is a matter of concern. In such epidemic conditions, vaccination is the only and effective treatment against corona.”

He further added, “It is Pleasant that a large number of citizens are increasingly participating in the vaccination campaign – there is no shortage of vaccinations anywhere in the province. There is ample stock of vaccines at all centers while the future more vaccines have been ordered to meet the needs. “Citizens are urged to immediately vaccinate all people over the age of 18 and ensure implementation of SOPs so that we can return to normal life.”
