Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry has strongly condemned terrorism attacks in Rawalpindi and Bannu and urged the government to take concrete measures to weed out this menace that is not only spoiling the image of the country but also hitting the economy hard. In a statement issued here, the LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari, Senior Vice President Mian Tariq Misbah and Vice President Kashif Anwar said that repeated terror attacks were a well planned conspiracy to destroying social and economic fabric of the country.
“Such acts of terrorism are an ugly attempt to destabilize Pakistan and to create an impression of unsafe place to do business in the eyes of international community.” The LCCI office-bearers said that the government needs to evolve a new policy to cope with the menace of terrorism. They said that repeated terror incidents had pushed the country to the wall as the foreigners are now showing reluctance to visit Pakistan what to talk of doing business with Pakistanis.
They said that it was very strange that despite all our efforts, the terrorists were attacking the place of their choice and killing innocent people. The LCCI office-bearers said that any further delay in taking a firm stand against terrorists would cause undue damage to the country therefore, the Prime Minister, the President and all the Chief Ministers should sit with the politicians and business leaders to evolve a methodology to get rid of this menace.
