LBOD-II corruption case: SHC grants pre-arrest bail to clerk

Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) has granted pre-arrest bail to a clerk involved in embezzlement of funds worth Rs250 million for Right Bank Outfall Drain (RBOD-II), a national level project.

A division bench of SHC headed by Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai allowed the bail to Allah Dino Mirbahar for Rs1 million and also issued a notice to NAB authorities.

Applicant submitted that chairman NAB initiated a probe against land acquisition officer RBOD-II project. The land was acquired by the government for construction of RBOD-II and land owners were paid compensation. Enquiry revealed that government suffered Rs 88,088,490 on basis of fake general power of attorney of Deh Bacha as hefty amount was paid on fake names of farmers.
