Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, majority of Pakistanis (80%) have heard/read about the Karachi operation. Of these individuals, 47% are satisfied with the results of the ongoing operation.
A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Recently, the present government initiated operations in different areas of Karachi to combat crime, terrorism and extortion.
Did you read/hear anything about this?” Responding to this, 80% replied in the affirmative while 15% said no. 5% did not respond.
The individuals who responded positively were further asked: “Some people are satisfied with the results of the operations conducted in Karachi and some are unsatisfied.
How satisfied or unsatisfied are you with the Karachi operations?” In response, 21% claimed to be very satisfied followed by 26% who were somewhat satisfied.
25% were neither satisfied nor unsatisfied while 15% were unsatisfied with the Karachi operation. Only 10% were very unsatisfied. 3% did not respond.
