Islamabad: Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs/Incharge Prime Minister’s Public Affairs/Grievances Wing visited the newly established Office under the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs at Cabinet Block.
The Minister of State chaired a meeting on Wednesday wherein all the officers of the Ministry were present. The Secretary briefed the Minister about the present status of staff posted to the Wing and the business disposed of since its transfer from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Minister showed great satisfaction on quantity of work disposed of by the Wing and stressed the need to strive harder to address the issues raised by the parliamentarians and the general public through petitions/applications addressed to the Prime Minister.
The Minister while addressing the participants stated that the prime objective of this Wing is the dispensation of justice to the common lot who are otherwise denied access to it. He further added that the Wing will cater for the complaints of the parliamentarians as well as the general public which is a loud resolution of the newly elected Government.
He indicated that letters to all the Chief Ministers would be sent followed by meetings with them to fully cooperate with this Wing to ensure smooth redressal of the public grievances. The Minister was informed that letters have been sent to all the Ministers/Divisions to nominate focal persons who would be responsible to comply with the directions passed by the MoS and provide timely relief to the aggrieved.
He directed that all out efforts would be made to publicize the utility of the Wing.
